Could be brighter. Modified mine by removing that part which covered the flash - can leave on now and use either the flash or LED as required.

This is a great add on to my TG-5. As a geologist this attachment gives me the ability to take rock grain size and matrix macros both in the field and the lab. Highly recommend this light diffuser for anyone interested in doing close-up photography.

This does help light up macro shots when you are very close to a subject or in a dark setting. I do have two reservations about it however: 1) the stippled/grid pattern in the clear part of the diffuser can show in your photo if you have a shiny or semi-reflective subject, and 2) like most tg accessories, the connection is plastic and not particularly durable.

Honestly, I never got a lot out of the light guide using the TG-4 in macro/microscope mode, which I have used practically on a daily basis for a year+. Unfortunately, it just doesn't produce a significant amount of light on subjects, and eliminates any depth from shadows / adds a distinct ring in any reflective material. I was more optimistic for using it underwater, where light is in short supply, but it's not waterproof like the rest of the TG-series it's made for. Seems like a miss.

Great item...I've only used it a couple of times and it works great. Can't wait to go outside and capture insects at night.

This little gizmo has made so much fun for me crawling around on the ground in search of insects and the tiniest flowers for macro shots. I like to shoot in subdued lighting like deep forests and shadows. Does a great job of spreading the LED light. I have been amazed at the photos I have created as an amateur/hobbyist photographer. A MUST HAVE accessory for the TG-series cameras! Just be sure you read the camera owner's manual about how to use the LED light. I was initially a little flummoxed when it didn't light up the first few times.

i bought the LED Light Guide for my TG-4 to increase the micro photography capabilities of my wonderful camera. it works as advertised and eliminates shadows and lens flares when used correctly. i just wish i could use the LED Light Guide with Telephoto Tough Lens Pack TCON-T01. having said that i still find plenty of ways to use this wonderful product! thanks again Olympus!

Great soft light and useful for portraits and microscopic work. Good colour balance and smooth coverage. Haven't tried it underwater yet. The price is right as well. I love it!
