8-16x40 S

The 8-16x40 S is OM SYSTEM's flexible zoom binocular for anyone looking for one binocular that covers many different situations, rather than committing to a fixed magnification. A zoom lever lets you continuously adjust between 8x and 16x magnification, depending on whether your subject is near or far.

· 8-16x zoom magnification & 40mm objective lens: flexible adjustment for both nearby and distant subjects in a single binocular
· BaK-7 prisms and anti-reflective coating: deliver a sharp, clear image
· Wide field of view: easy to locate subjects even at lower zoom settings
· Rubber-coated body: durable and comfortable, even during extended outdoor use
· Built-in dioptre correction: individual focus adjustment for both eyes
· Lightweight, ergonomic design: easy to handle over longer observation sessions

That makes the 8-16x40 S ideal for anyone who wants a single, versatile binocular for nature watching, sports events and travel, rather than several fixed-magnification binoculars.

Very good binoculars with the added facility to zoom in, even if it is at the price of slightly darker and less precise image. But really useful feature to have. The field of view isn’t perhaps as wide as some. I have an ancient pair of military binoculars, full of dust and misalignment but the field of view was huge and easy to spot fast moving objects. Everyone who’s borrowed my new OM System binoculars has been very impressed with the sharpness of the image and just how good they are. The 8~16x40 s feel really well made, about the right weight and well balanced. Should last a long time and give great service.
