Beamforming noise cancellation mode
The Intelligent Two-microphone System utilizes the omni-directional microphones, analyzing phase differences from sound sources. Using our unique Audio Beamforming algorithms, the DS-9100 suppresses sound from specific directions, reducing noise from the back and sides significantly, focusing on the speaker during dictation. This dramatically improves sound quality for speech recognition, even in challenging environments.
Dictation mode
For classic dictation of your notes or reports, the main microphone will be recording in an omni-directionality mode so that the recorder can be held in various positions.
Conference mode
Designed for interviews and small meetings, conference recording controls the directionally of the 2 microphones into a 90° layout, which enables high quality recording in a realistic stereo capture. Regardless of where the person speaking is located or the direction of speech, you can clearly capture the information.
Flexible audio recording formats
The DSS format promises effective compression without compromising quality in digital voice capture. . The digital speech standard (DSS) allows for quick file editing (insert, overwrite, append, erase/cut) and uses meta information (index, verbal comments, worktypes, etc.) to facilitate collaboration and automatic processing. PCM format, with its minimal compression, ensures exceptional quality as well as compatibility with a variety of playback tools. Simultaneously, the widely utilized MP3 format serves as an excellent choice for storing consumer audio and enables easy transfer/playback of music on digital audio players.
Noise activated recording with VCVA
The VCVA function efficiently manages memory by pausing recording during quiet intervals and automatically restarting when it detects sound exceeding a preset threshold. This feature optimizes playback efficiency and prolongs recording time.
Index Marks
While recording or playing back, you have the flexibility to insert up to 32 Index Marks into an audio file. These marks act as handy indicators, helping you identify crucial or noteworthy segments of your dictation.
Insert and Overwrite recording modes
Unlock different recording options with the DS-9100. Use Insert mode to seamlessly add recordings into existing audio files without the need for additional addendums. Overwrite mode enables you to record over previous dictation at any chosen point. Lastly, Append mode effortlessly adds a new recording to the end of an existing file. With the addition of the New File creation button, you don’t need to start a new recording until you are ready.
Encryption
The DS-9100 provides added security with 256-BIT AES encryption* when utilized alongside the DSS Pro file format, ensuring user data remains protected from unauthorized access, enhancing confidentiality, and complying with industry standards for secure audio recording.

4-digit pin lock
The DS-9100’s Device Lock feature secures data with a 4-digit PIN, keeping it inaccessible to unauthorized users. Its data loss prevention function activates a read-only mode when connected to a PC, preventing accidental data copying, enhancing security.

The DS-9100 features 2.4 inch TFT colour LCD. Featuring a live recording monitor and an easily accessible, intuitive menu system—all at a glance.
4-position slide switch control
Experience effortless dictation with the user-friendly optical slide-switch, enabling you to start, stop, and edit recordings seamlessly without the need to divert your attention to the device.
Recording storage
With 2GB of built-in memory, the DS-9100 also accommodates external SD cards up to 32GB (available separately). Effortlessly transfer your recordings to your PC by utilizing the provided micro-B USB cable.
3.5mm microphone and headphone jacks
Headphones can be connected to monitor or playback your recordings. Additional microphones such as boundary, shotgun or a lavalier can be used for specific situations.
Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery
Benefit from the included Lithium-ion battery, providing an impressive 56 hours of battery life. Recharge the DS-9100 easily by connecting it to a PC or a compatible USB charger.
Author ID & WorkTypes
The DS-9100 facilitates user identification with Author ID embedded in the audio file header, enabling personalized dictation tracking. It supports multiple work IDs for shared devices, and users can define custom work types such as “case notes” or “patient consultation” for various dictation needs.
Docking station
The CR-21 Docking Station* ensures a smooth connection to your PC. When paired with an OM SYSTEM AC Adapter, it efficiently charges the DS-9100 within 2 hours. Additionally, you have the option to connect a footswitch for remote device control, enabling hands-free dictation.

Resilient in everyday dictation
The DS-9100 showcases a strong and durable design, ensuring its resilience. Rigorous tests have shown its ability to withstand falls of up to 1.5m without impacting recording capabilities.
Alcohol wipe resistance
Thanks to the alcohol resistance coating, the device can be cleaned if used within a medical environment. The following solutions can be used for this purpose in order to disinfect various types of substance. - Ethanol for disinfection (76.9 to 81.4 v/v%)
- Isopropanol for disinfection (70 v/v%)
