Outstanding OM-1 Mark II 12-40mm PRO II Lens combo

27/12/2024
I acquired this camera combo a few weeks ago, having switched from a Fujifilm X-T3 camera system with multiple Fuji lenses. Although the sensor is a little smaller (20Mp vs 26), I am not noticing a decrease in image quality - quite the contrary. I use the camera and lens for studio photography, landscape photography and general family memories. I shoot RAW, and process my photos in DxO PhotoLab: the results simply looks amazing, with beautiful colours, super shaker sharp detail from the amazing zoom lens etc. The focus tracking of the OM1 M2 puts the X-T3 to shame. I can track my constantly moving daughter and get 100% of my shots perfectly focused on her eyes - certainly not something I could achieve in the past. But at the end of the day, I switched my system because of its compactness. The OM1 m2 isn't much smaller than the X-T3, but the micro four thirds lenses certainly are. The 12-40 pro 2 lens is very sharp and replaces 3 of my previous Fuji lenses. Ergonomics and weather seating are pluses. This kit is very well built, and a delight to use. Very well done OM System. Keep producing great cameras like this and innovating, and you're into a winner.

Best camera I ever own.
A a great update from the EM1-III. As I am working as a pro, I needed to update the later especially for the better EVF.
As expected almost everything else is just better: sensor, speed, and so on.
But I also really enjoy to have some plus like rating, better object detection and better UI.
One thing is better on the EM1 series: the wheels. That's it.

What's there to say. A wonderful followup to the Olympus EM1's
Light / Fast / Excellent firmware and support.
The 'gun' for wildlife when you add one of the telezooms on offer.
I came from the EM10 than EM5 and grew into the system. Use it daily for both street and nature.
Being a M43 camera you have a wide range of lenses and extra's to choose from. The applications OMD offers are good for both pro's and consumers, but of course you can scale up.
You may expect a useful and enjoyable camera that will grow with you, anytime and everywhere you go.
