The E-M1X’s firmware cannot be updated. Is there a solution?
My E-M1X’s firmware update takes a longer to finish than usual. Please be aware of the following:

  • Be sure to have a fully charged battery in the camera. Without sufficient power, the firmware update may fail or will not start.
  • The customer should have the memory card inserted in the camera, otherwise, OM Workspace will not recognize the camera.
  • It can take up to 12 minutes to update the firmware on the E-M1X, including downloading and writing the firmware data to the camera.
  • Do not disconnect the USB cable during the update. Once the OK icon is displayed on the camera’s rear monitor, it is safe to disconnect. It will take approximately 5 minutes for the firmware file to download, and an additional 5 minutes until the OK icon is displayed (after the writing icon is displayed) on the rear monitor.
