Such a versatile lens.

I am absolutely in love with this lens. I use it for portraits to get a nice creamy background, works great for landscape details, and I have it paired with a 1.4 teleconverter for wildlife. It really is a jack of all trades telephoto lens. I love the close focus ability and the bright aperture. Just a great lens all around.

Bright, constant, close, stable, impressive!
19/05/2026
I received this previously owned Olympus M. Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 Pro lens as a birthday gift and have enjoyed for only just a month and a half, so far. Although heavier than my pre previous lens of the same focal range (Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 40-150mm 1:4-5.6 R), this lens outperforms it markedly:
•It is so bright that I had to reacquaint myself with my Pen-F's live view;
•Zoom entirely within the lens delights me after long having the front element move in and out;
•Constant aperture, wherever I set it, throughout the entire zoom range simply adds versatility to this lens;
•I had thought I was getting sharp photos previously but this lens outdoes my previous lens for sharpness, even stopped down to f/22 with no diffraction sharpness loss (see attached photo of the sun with sunspots, 150mm with the MC-20 teleconverter, f/22 at ISO 200 and 1/8000 sec. through a 10 stop neutral density filter);
•Close focus also amazes me, promoted as at 70cm but actually near macro at 40mm somewhere between 30 and 40cm, with the 70cm close focus applicable at 150mm for an even more magnified image without crowding a photographic subject (see attached wildflower photo, the flower is less than 10cm across,150mm with the MC-20 teleconverter, f/5.6 at ISO 200 and 1/250 sec.);
•This lens' image stabilization, in combination with my Pen-F's in-body image stabilization astounds me, even permitting me to shoot sharp 40mm hand-held photos at just 1/5 of a second (see attached photo, the duck moved within its sharp surroundings, 40mm f/5.6 at ISO 200 and 1/5 sec.), something I just would not dare with my previous lens.

The OM 40-150 is sharp as the proverbial tack!
11/05/2026
Wonderfully sharp lens. I started switching to OM after being a Nikon shooter for many years, decades.
Started with the OM 1 markii and 90mm macro lens because of the live stacking and other features like the internal density filter and computational modes. Much to learn but the menu is intuitive. I purchased the 40-150mm f/2,8 and after realizing the IQ decided to get the OM 300mm pro and an 8-25mm f/4 pro. Selliing some of my Nikon gear helps to pay for them. The Z9 covered the initial purchase.

Can’t go wrong
27/03/2026
I bought this along w the new OM1 camera and two other zoom lenses. This serves as my mid zoom. While a bit larger than I expected, I’m very impressed w the build quality, the clarity of the pictures and its ability to work impeccably w the OM camera. I’m happy to have the larger 2.8 aperture just for lower light. Many go w the 4.0 aperture for the smaller size of the , and I totally understand that choice too. Very pleased w this camera system and glad I went with OM

Phenomenal lens!!
09/03/2026
This is absolutely one of the best lenses I have ever owned! It is sharp, quick focusing, has great color and contrast. The bright 2.8 aperture throughout is a joy to work with! I’d give it a 12 on a scale of 1-10.

Compact, lightweight, fast and sharp

Lightweight, very sharp. Great lens to bring out and enjoy. Compact enough to just bring out, and very fast aperture for high speed, low light situations. The lens hood design lets you quickly retract it.
