Very Capable and Reliable Everyday Carry
10/07/2026
I have been a fan of Olympus cameras and lenses since I bought my first MFT camera in 2015 (Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II). I was reluctant to buy in to the OM System products until I finally took the chance on the OM-5 Mark II Sand Beige camera body. I have been more than pleased and impressed. First of all, it is a beautiful camera body. It makes me want to pick it up and go make photographs. I am impressed with how well it incorporates some of the computational features introduced on the OM-D E-M1X and the autofocus seems to be greatly improved over my OM-D E-M1 Mark III. I highly recommend this camera to anyone starting out with the MFT ecosystem or those looking for a very capable everyday carry camera.

Great for travel!
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Black 12-45mm PRO Lens Kit
10/06/2026
I got tired of lugging my Nikon D 50 on Cruise vacations. I got lazy and it would stay in the cabin and I took pictures with my iPhone instead. I looked for a camera that was weather sealed for my future Alaska and Iceland cruises. This combo package fit the bill nicely. Takes great pictures and is lighter and smaller than the D 50. I used it on our recent cruise to the Caribbean and have zero complaints. I also purchased the 40-150mm Pro lens. May add the 17 mm F1.8 lens for city carry in the future. Great little camera!

Not good for me
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Black 12-45mm PRO Lens Kit

I’m not enjoying this camera and I would love to return it. It’s a decent camera for certain things, but as far as animal photography it’s awful. And it’s really bad in low light. I even purchased a new lens to try and it did help a little but not by much. The camera does not have animal focus. Do not recommend.

Optimal Lightweight Travel/Adventure Setup
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Body Black
08/28/2026
As the logical successor to the excellent E-M5 Mk III (which is/was my first foray into MFT), the OM-5 Mk II does not disappoint. What I really wanted--and got--out of this camera were the amazing CP features which will really support travel/adventure shooting in a fantastic, appealingly lightweight package. For an extremely lightweight setup, the 12-45mm f4 Pro lens is first rate and pairs well with the 20mm f1.4 (or 17mm/25mm f1.8 lenses), depending on the nature of the subjects one might be expected to capture (and/or low-light capability or situations). (Alternatively, the 12-40 f2.8 lens and the 40-150mm f4 weigh the exact same amount, have a similar on-body feel, and together also make an outstanding two-lens travel option, but with a comparatively moderate weight penalty.) If you don't need the extra reach, then either the 12-45mm f4 or 12-40mm f2.8 may be all you'd require in a one-lens, weather-sealed solution.

Good travel buddy
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Black 14-150mm Lens Kit
08/23/2026
This is my travel and street photography buddy. Overall the unit is solid and the weather sealing gives me confidence to brave the rain. The compute ND filters and HDR are awesome. Focus can be a touch slow on the stock lenses. But paired with a Panasonic Leica Summilux F1.4 it's great. Too bad the m43 sensor struggles in low light. I expected a battery grip or an extension grip, over a year since release, but can't find any. Battery life is a downer. It is sluggish to wake up from "sleep" mode. The articulating screen is super. Overall the menu is pretty well organised but takes time to learn where certain settings are. For travel and casual photography, this is a decent unit.

Perfect for travel and EDC
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Silver 12-45mm PRO Lens Kit
07/31/2026
I bought this primarily for travel in place of my Canon full frame system. The smaller form factor is perfect for carrying all day. The weather sealing is also appealing because we live near the beach. I took it on a trip and really enjoyed the shooting experience a features. I am still learning the many many features. Overall, a really enjoyable carry and photography experience! For parents who want to carry a camera, but worry about crumbs and spills, this system is for you!

Big step up from OM-D E-M10 Mark IV
Review left for OM-5 Mark II
07/19/2026
We had just purchased an OMD E-M10 Mark IV for me then my wife decided she wanted to get us on the same format and traded her Sony Alpha A6000 with multiple lenses on this camera. Definitely more capable than the OM-D with metal, water-resistant body. Hand controls are much better. Capabilities are much more substantial...we ordered letter sized instruction manuals for both...the OM5 is about three times as thick.

Has me shooting more than ever
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Black 12-45mm PRO Lens Kit
07/09/2026
I've had my OM-5 II for a few months now, and it has far exceeded my expectations. Even with all the research I did before purchasing it, I just didn't expect the image quality to be this good (especially when paired with PRO glass).
This thing is super sharp, consistently nails focus, has unbelievable image stabilization, and offers tons of programmable and computational features. Somehow, it manages to feel both premium and durable while also being incredibly lightweight.
I do have other camera systems and I bought the OM-5 II to have a high-quality, lightweight camera for casual shooting. However, I've reached the point where I just grab my OM-5 II every time for everything. It has turned everything else into a backup camera. I'm shooting way more then before and I'm loving it.

Great upgrade from EM5
Review left for OM-5 Mark II Body Silver
07/07/2026
Great upgrade from my well loved EM5. The 20 MP sensor lets me crop in more, the USB-C in body charging is great and the ergonomics are much improved.
I just returned from a photography trip with a friend who is using full sized gear, and I have to say that there is no way I could use a 300 mm zoom lens on a full sized camera and not have serious neck and shoulder pain at the end of the day. I use the OM system 12-40mm f2.8 pro and the 40-150mm f4 pro lenses and it's perfect for travel. I have effectively 24mm to 300mm with this set up, and it is light enough to hike with.
