This photograph draws me in instantly, combining culture, environment, and emotion in a way that feels intentional and timeless. The balance between the landscape and human presence creates a powerful sense of place, making me feel as though I’m standing right there in the moment.

You would think the lantern is initially what caught my eye instead my eyes were drawn to the vast silhouette of the jagged mountain tops softly sitting in the shadows. The fisherman holding the only light in the frame holds so much power and emotion. What a killer frame but even better story!

Ben’s photo just draws you in and keeps you there. Like all good travel photography, it opens a window on a world that most people will never see. A fascinating human subject, perfectly exposed under challenging conditions, in a dramatic landscape. Hard to beat! Congratulations, Ben.

I love the use of light here to focus in on the subject and I appreciate the challenge of balancing the image in a dark environment. It combines powerful elements that really made me pause to take in the feeling this photo brings.

Travel photography inspires people from afar, and this image evokes emotion as much as it offers beauty to its viewers. To put yourself in this unique moment requires patience with your subject, an ability to compose, and something I personally admire- willingness to adventure into the unknown. There’s a story behind the subject, and a photographer actively placing us in this moment. It felt raw. It felt inspiring. And I hope to one day find myself embedded in it while traveling.

I chose this image as the winner because it tells a powerful story at first glance. It’s more than a landscape — it reveals an ancient tradition. The lone fisherman, lit by a warm lantern against deep blue dusk, feels intimate and symbolic. The blue hour and amber glow create cinematic contrast, while the towering mountains add scale and place. It doesn’t just show a destination — it makes you want to experience the culture behind it.

What I love about this photo is the combination of texture/light and timing. The silhouette of the two walking into thick fog with the “Golden” sign above adds so much drama to the moment. When I think about my favorite street photographs they all share the same things in common as this still. Amazing work!

There is real depth to the image that draws the viewer in and moves from the steel blue lighting of the foreground to the “golden” hues in the distance. This photo really stopped me. The balance of light and embracing of shadow is really wonderful and makes the overall image stand out. It makes me feel like I'm there standing on the street corner taking in this scene, while also bringing a sense of story to the image.

Street photography is a skill that’s hard to master, and I absolutely love how this image balances so many elements. The subjects for a sense of scale, almost lost in the essence of the nights pursuit. The fog drawing you deeper into heart of the image. With a beautiful usage of light, illuminating where they may be headed. It’s a captivating atmosphere that feels like a movie.

I chose this image as Best Street Photo for its striking contrast between darkness and connection. Two figures walk through dense fog beneath a glowing “GOLDEN” sign, the scene moody and cinematic. Though the city feels heavy, their shared umbrella suggests warmth and steadiness. Layers of fog, neon, and shadow create depth, but it’s the quiet human bond that makes this fleeting moment unforgettable.
